Square-base stainless spigot for 12–17.52 mm structural glass balustrade.
Technical specifications
The Glass Railing Spigot is a base-fixed stainless steel post that grips the bottom edge of a structural glass panel, giving a balustrade with no top rail and no framing around the glass. The base is 50 × 50 mm and the spigot stands 150 mm high, and it takes glass from 12 mm through to 17.52 mm laminated — the laminated thicknesses being the ones normally specified where a fall is possible. Fixing is surface mount through the base plate into the structural slab, and a balustrade is only as good as that substrate, so the fixing detail belongs to the structural design rather than to the hardware. Chrome-finished stainless is the usual choice for a balcony because the fitting is fully exposed to weather at the one point where the entire load path passes through it.
