Countertop Support Bracket

The Countertop Support Bracket is an L-shaped steel bracket fixed to the carcass or wall to carry the unsupported overhang of a stone or engineered-stone worktop, typically at a breakfast bar or a wall-hung vanity. It is made in 250 × 250 mm and 350 × 350 mm, and the arm length is chosen against the overhang rather than the worktop depth — the usual guidance being that an unsupported projection past roughly a third of the slab depth wants a bracket under it. A pair is rated at 70 kg, which reflects the fact that a stone overhang carries not only its own considerable weight but whatever leans on its edge. It is surface mounted and finished in matt black, because unlike the other stone fittings in this range this bracket is visible from below and is part of what a person sees sitting at the counter.
